Looking for Flash Animators and Motion Graphics Artists

Date May 16, 2008

Hey y'all… sorry for the delay in posting.  I've been buried in legal documents as we try to get the funding for JellyTelly wrapped up.  We're close… soooo clooooose…

Anyway - are you a Flash animator or motion graphics artist?  (And if you answer is, "What ARE those things?" then it's safe to say you probably aren't one of either.)  We're beginning to produce a lot of Flash shorts for JellyTelly using freelance Flash animators, and we're looking for a few more skilled artists who want to help.  If you're a good Flash artist, or know a good Flash artist, drop us a note here through my site.  We'd like to get to know you.  And even pay you for some work.

Secondly, if you're a good motion graphics artist (or know a good motion graphics artist), we want to get to know you, too.  When MTV first launched, they had a lot of fun by letting different artists take their logo and do crazy stuff with it.  Well, I think it would be fun to do the same thing with JellyTelly.  If you're a motion graphics artist, or even a mixed-media animator (clay, paper cut-out, sand on glass, etc.), and you'd like to try something weird that could also get you some exposure, send us an email through this site.  We'll send you an Illustrator file of our logo and you can do something fun with it.  Animate it.  Spray paint it on your dog.  (Maybe not real spray paint.)  Sculpt it in clay, drop it in an aquarium and film your fish poking at it.  Make it a Chia Pet and grow grass on it, filmed time-lapse.  Paint each letter on a t-shirt and have a bunch of kids spell it out lying on your lawn, filming them from the roof of your house.  They can all kick their legs like a Busby Berkeley dance number.

You get the idea.  If you want to participate in the great JellyTelly logo "bake-off," drop us an email.  We'll send you the logo.  You can take it from there!

I have to get back to the legal documents now… talk to you soon…

My son and I would LOVE to do a stop motion Lego Movie (Or stop motion anything) of the new Jelly Telly Logo. My son recently got picked as a must see on the Zimmer Twins website, and I would love to keep it going. He’s eight and is dying to become a 3-D animated game/cartoon creator.

I would love the chance to go crazy with your logo.

When you first shared the vision, I started thinking about short “bumpers” we could do with the logo.

    Can’t wait to get started!

How about we carve the logo out of a pot roast and have my Jack Russell dog devour it? Or bake a cake of it and let the kids at it? Except…I have that blasted Sony cam corder that records to DVD. Is that OK? You recomend against it in your tips-on-recording-stuff thingy.

    Hey Phil,

Last year I completed my studies in Bachelor of Design (Multimedia design) at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, with my main focus on 2d animation however also working with 3D in Maya. My passion since a very young age has been creating characters and meeting the challenge of bringing them to life. As I came into my early high school years I discovered animation and since then I haven’t been able to put it down. God soon gave me a vision that has been driving me since, which was to see animated Christian children’s film/ TV take on and touch the secular world. Setting a benchmark in worldwide Animation.
I am currently working with Planetshakers Church in Melbourne, Australia on a new children’s ministry curriculum called ‘4′, in which I have the privilege being a part of bringing God’s word to children all over the globe simply by using the gift God’s given me in my artistic abilities.

It wasn’t until my Pastor (Rob Bradbury, who I am currently serving) lent me your book (Me myself and Bob) re-ignited the fire that God’s placed in my heart to see this vision come to pass. When my pastor encouraged me to check out this blog and get in touch with you I was stirred. It would be an honor to join with you at any level.

Also a major project I worked on in my graduating year with 80 peers. I headed up the character design and worked on animation:

Hope to hear from you soon!
