This is pretty cool…

An artist named DC Weiss paints a painting of a jellyfish, inspired by a quote from my book "Me, Myself & Bob." He videotapes the whole thing and puts it up on YouTube. Read on to see the video…

“I’m gonna try to be a jellyfish, but not try too hard, because that would defeat the purpose.”
Wow. That moved me. Like a current.

Fun to watch, great to hear. I need to re-read the book again. It seems this time of year really finds me stressed and striving.
Very convicting. Always uplifting.
God bless.

Wow, that’s awesome. It makes me very thankful that I got your book for Christmas, but makes me question why I haven’t actually picked it up yet. That changes tomorrow, as I’m taking a 10 day trip to DC for Drupalcon. I’ll definitely be carrying Me Myself & Bob and read it whenever I have a minute.
Thanks in advance Phil, for everything you’ve done to inspire me, and others like me.

a revised version,
I’m a friend of Phil and I can attest, by having worked under the man that he is a man of his word. He has become the metaphorical jellyfish he spoke of in his book. I have seen it in his day to day humility with his big idea family. A man is subject to change through the lessons he learns. A rock can become sand with time and pressure, coal can become a diamond. So to is the way of the human heart, So to is the way with my friend Phil. I am proud of the man he has allowed God to shape him into. I liked him before all this, but I like the old quiet rascal more all the more now. Humility requires giving up more than your big big dreams… God asks all to be as children. I requires serving one God , one path, His, He wants us to be a family walking in a park holding hands trusting our leader to safe places. The rich man in the bible could not do that for what use was God to him when he felt he could provide a for himself… he could not serve two masters(he could not follow the leader). Phil has chosen the way of a jellyfish, which is the way of a child, We are all still children to the almighty, He just wants us to see it, once we let go of control he will treat you better than you own loving parents treated you as an infant. The tough thing Phil and all of us face is that as blessings come so to do the temptations. It’s to think that we brought on our own blessings. Children have no illusions on dependence. They need Mom and Dad in the end fight us as they might at times. Phil has become more like a child and has set a bar for me to follow. As a man following Christ may God help me to depend more on the currents you bring me closer to him. Good Parable Phil, I think Jesus would like it. You my friend are a jelly fish, and a heck of a writer.

So glad the video is up and running again. A great watch. I know that there are many days and many times when I myself try to remember to “be like a jellyfish”…had that conversation with my husband just last night. I’m leaving the details up to God. I’m just gonna try to ride the wave.

jellytelly.comHi Phil,
Thank you so much for an awesome site. It’s good to see you producing great stuff for kids again. I just purchased the first installment on your “books of the bible” videos. I plan on buying more.
Just a side note, your http://www.jellytelly.com site doesn’t work too well on IE8. The menu at the bottom mostly disappears. The only thing there is the Pirate Game. On my other computer with IE7 they are all there.
Anyhow, I can’t wait for the new books of the bible on Jellybits!
